In addition to the International Student Orientation, undergraduate students must attend a general GMU Orientation. These general orientation sessions are offered in July and August. A schedule of dates, times and reservation forms are available on-line at http://orientation.gmu.edu. Registration is required to attend one of these sessions...they may be marked FULL but explain you are an International student and need special attention since your paper work takes longer to process and you are not allowed to be in the country when most of the orientations take place. Undergraduate students do need to register for this session and mail confirmation of attendance to the Orientation Office. Graduate students would greatly benefit from attending one of the general GMU Orientation sessions and are more than welcome.

In addition, graduate students should also check with their academic department for information on separate departmental orientation sessions for graduate students. Please note that each of these graduate departmental orientation sessions is different. International student orientation is mandatory but does not replace the other orientation programs, so you should go to as many as possible. The general Mason Orientation are very valuable for getting the basic workings of campus, for assuring that you have registered properly, and have your GMU E-mail account. Also part of your student fees go there so you might as well take advantage of it!
