Yoonseo Cho - Global Affairs, BA

Yoonseo Cho
Hometown: Jeju, South Korea
Major: Global Affairs, BA

Yoonseo is an undergraduate senior majoring in Global Affairs with a concentration in the Environment and minoring in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Her academic focus involves researching public climate change knowledge, policy preferences, and behavior, while also exploring the cultural and political factors that influence them.

Her previous experience on the Fairfax campus during the Spring 2024 semester was truly memorable, particularly due to her involvement in on-campus events. Shes been working as a Greenhouse and Gardens Intern with University Sustainability. Recognizing that networking and engaging with unfamiliar people can be challenging, especially within the context of Korean culture, and knowing how overwhelming it can be to navigate a resource-rich campus, she is eager to serve as a facilitator. As a MK Student Ambassador, Yoonseo aims to assist students from Mason Korea in building cross-cultural friendships with diverse international peers who share similar concerns. She also strives to connect them with essential peer resources. By sharing her own experiences, Yoonseo hopes to help Korean students thrive within the vibrant and diverse Mason community, while creating more opportunities for them to connect, grow, and make the most of their time on campus.

Her enthusiasm for introducing the Mason Korea study abroad program to Fairfax students and high school seniors led her to work as a College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) Student Ambassador as well as a representative for the Global Affairs program.
