About OIPS

The Office of International Programs and Services educates, celebrates and serves the Mason community, including international and domestic students, faculty and exchange visitors, by helping them reach their highest academic and personal goals. We:

  • Inspire cross-cultural understanding and enrich the Mason experience by emphasizing global issues and themes. Provide meaningful opportunities for shared learning.
  • Recognize individual achievements and milestones; and celebrate the richness of our community, its holidays, festivals, and traditions.
  • Provide quality service and resources to assist with cultural adjustment and regulatory compliance.

OIPS is in Arlington every Wednesday from 11am to 6pm during the Summer semester.  Phone appointments are available for Arlington students on Wednesdays by calling the Front Desk at (703) 993-2970.

 

Walk-in Hours, Appointments, Document Drop-off and Pick-up


* Extended hours on Tuesdays: only during Fall/Spring semesters when class is in session.

Walk-in Hours (Fairfax campus, SUB I, room 4300): 

Walk-ins are 5-10 minute meetings and are best for travel signatures, on-campus employment certification signatures, CPT position description approval, OPT packet review, selective withdrawal form signatures and other brief requests.

  • Tuesday through Thursday, 2 to 4 pm
  • Tuesday, 5 to 6 pm (only during Fall/Spring semesters when class is in session)
  • Students and scholars who are unable to make it to these hours can request appointments by calling the OIPS front desk at (703) 993-2970.

Appointments (Fairfax campus, SUB I, room 4300):

Scheduled appointments are 20 or 45 minutes and are required for complex questions.   Change of status and reinstatement require a 45-minute appointment.  If you are unable to keep an appointment or you are running late, please call our office at (703) 993-2970.

  • Monday, 9:30 to 11:30 am and 1:30 to 2:30 pm
  • Tuesday, 6 to 7 pm (only during Fall/Spring semesters when class is in session)
  • Friday: 9:30 to 11:30 am and 1:30 to 3:30 pm
  • Students and scholars can request appointments by calling the OIPS front desk at (703) 993-2970.

Document Drop-off and Pick-up (Fairfax campus, SUB I, room 4300):

Students and scholars can drop off and pick up documents at the front desk during regular business hours.

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm
  • Tuesday, 6 to 7 pm (only during Fall/Spring semesters when class is in session)
