Tarek Hassan - Egypt (Alum) Tarek is a Mason alumnus who was born and raised in Egypt. He came to the U.S. as an international student to pursue graduate studies in Physics and Computer Science. He attended the University of North Texas and UNC Chapel Hill before transferring to George Mason University to pursue a Ph.D. in Computer Science. During his tenure at Mason, he was an active member of the Arab Student Association and engaged in many student activities. He also worked as a teacher and research assistant in the Computer Science department. After leaving Mason, he worked for several years as a Research Scientist at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He then decided to become an entrepreneur, and started a healthcare business, which he currently owns and operates in Maryland.
