She has a strong passion for volunteering, particularly at events hosted by her home country’s embassy. Ahnaf Akmal Navid - Bangladesh (Bachelor's) Navid is an undergraduate student majoring in Biology from Bangladesh. With a background as a student advisor and mentor, he has facilitated connections between students and campus resources, orchestrated engaging events, and played a crucial role in multiple offices at Mason, a commitment he continues to uphold. Mentoring and engaging with international students in appointments and beyond has become his newfound passion, as he witnesses the positive changes within these students. Moreover, he enjoys longboarding, playing soccer, and practicing taekwondo whenever he finds time. Actively involved in various volunteer groups and organizations, both on and off-campus, he is dedicated to making a lasting and positive impact, especially among international students at Mason.

Ruoqi Han - China (Bachelor's) Ruoqi is a senior undergraduate student majoring in Integrative Studies with a concentration in Legal Studies and minor in Global Affairs and Criminology, Law, and Society from China. Sahithi Mummalaneni - India (Bachelor's) Sahithi is a junior undergraduate student majoring in Neuroscience from India. She has been trained in Indian classical dance in India and the United States for the past fifteen years. She founded Mason Taaras, an Indian fusion dance club that blends techniques from Indian and Western dance forms. Additionally, she works as a medical assistant at an ophthalmology and a family medicine clinic that treats military veterans. She loves to travel and cook cuisines from around the world in her free time.

Mohammed Ismail - India (Master's) Mohammed is a master’s student majoring in Health Informatics from India. In his free time, Mohammed explores new technology, lending a helping hand to others, and focusing on self-care by getting some sleep.

Wenzhu Xu (Chelsea) - China (Doctoral) Chelsea Wenzhu Xu is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Cultural Studies program. She is originally from Qingdao, China. In her free time, she likes to hang out with her dog Butters. Having been an international student in the U.S. for over five years, Chelsea is excited to be involved in a community of peers with similar experiences and diverse perspectives.

Tarek Hassan - Egypt (Alum) Tarek is a Mason alumnus who was born and raised in Egypt. He came to the U.S. as an international student to pursue graduate studies in Physics and Computer Science. He attended the University of North Texas and UNC Chapel Hill before transferring to George Mason University to pursue a Ph.D. in Computer Science. During his tenure at Mason, he was an active member of the Arab Student Association and engaged in many student activities. He also worked as a teacher and research assistant in the Computer Science department. After leaving Mason, he worked for several years as a Research Scientist at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He then decided to become an entrepreneur, and started a healthcare business, which he currently owns and operates in Maryland. He enjoys providing guidance and mentorship to international students.
